B.A.S.E. Doula Program
Doulas are trained professionals who provide physical comfort, emotional support, and information to mothers during pregnancy, labor and delivery, and the post-partum period. The doula program is accepting clients who live in La Porte County and are eligible for Medicaid.
The following services are free to eligible participants:
Eligibility: Pregnant or immediate postpartum mothers eligible for Medicaid insurance.
Prenatal: Home visits, making a birth plan, accompanying client to prenatal appointments
Labor and Delivery: Meet client at hospital to provide physical and emotional support, comfort measures, and relaxation techniques
Postpartum: Up to four hours in-home assistance with chores and newborn care, up to 12 months of check-ins, support, and referrals to community services
